Dear Friends,
Thursday this coming week, I'll be traveling to Haiti. Yes, on this coming
week-end, I'll have the privilege to pray once more in my childhood church,
the Cathedral of the Assumption in les Cayes. I may also have the privilege
to pray in my native town church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Kavayon.
What a blessing!
I thank the Living God for life, life for you, life for me, life on earth
with the hope of eternal life in Heaven.
It's good to be physically free and also enjoying inner freedom. I will
always stay grateful to you all who prayed and advocated for me while I was
unjustly dying in jail under trumped-up charges from de facto government
officials imposed on us by a sector of the International Community. The
Constitution of the land has been raped, and thousands of innocent citizens
were killed and others displaced. Our elected president, Dr. Jean-Bertrand
Aristide, was taken away and still remains in exile, four years later. The
host country, South Africa, has done enough for us, Haitians. It is time to
bring Dr. Aristide and his family back home to Haiti.
At the end of February 2008, I will travel to my ancestors' continent,
Africa. Pray and let's try to convince the concerned officials in Haiti and
South Africa to work out former President Aristide 's return soon. As South
Africa is dealing with its own problems now, let's do our best advocacy to
demand the safe return of Dr. Aristide and his family now.
Be creative and do your best peaceful activities individually or
collectively in your respective communities.
With God's bless, enjoy living!
Best Regards,
Gerard Jean-Juste
